Holistic Faith – James 2

1. How can we “H_____ our faith?

  • ONLY in the L_____  Jesus Christ
  • By showing no partiality
    • By L_____  the M_____  and poor
    • Giving up J_____  with evil T_____
    • Avoiding D______ , avoiding those who are O_____, and avoiding those who B_____  God’s name

REFLECT: Have you ever felt like it was difficult to “hold” on to your faith?  What has helped you?  What has NOT helped?  Have you tried not showing partiality as part of holding to your faith?  How could that look in your life?

2.  Faith is not the result of our personal P_____ , but rather of God’s perfect M_____ , thru which we are called to God’s perfect R_____ Law.

REFLECT: Have you ever tried earning God’s favor by working hard to be perfect?  How did that go?  What does it look like in your life to receive God’s perfect mercy?  How does the Royal Law lead you to show mercy to others? 

3.  Faith is more than head knowledge!  

– It is Holy Spirit C_____  action, leading to a loving Kingdom community.

REFLECT: What do you think a loving Kingdom community looks like in our church?

4.  God is ready to U_____ those who are willing to act in F_____ .

REFLECT: Are you willing to act in faith today?  How might God want to use you?

    • Avoiding Dishonor, and those who are Oppressors, or Blaspheme God’s name
    • By building a Kingdom Community.
