Bulletin

At Bethel Covenant, we have embraced the mission of being the Light to the Delta.

The staff and leadership at BECC can do that by ...

*connecting you to others for fellowship,
*informing you of opportunities to learn and serve, and
*encouraging each other in our walks with the Lord.

Amazing Grace

Verse 1

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Verse 2

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Verse 3

The Lord has promised good to me
His Word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

Verse 4

Through many dangers toils and snares
I have already come
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

Verse 5

Yea when this flesh and heart shall fail
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the veil
A life of joy and peace

Verse 6

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun

More Precious than Silver

Chorus 1

(Oh) Lord You are
More precious than silver
Lord You are
More costly than gold
Lord You are
More beautiful than diamonds
And nothing I desire
Compares with You

And who can weigh the value
Of knowing You
Oh who can judge the worth
Of Who You are
Lord who can count the blessing
Of loving You
Who can say just how great You are
How great You are

Chorus 2

(Oh) Lord You are
More precious than silver
Lord You are
More costly than gold
Lord You are
More beautiful than diamonds
And nothing I desire
Compares with You

Compares with You
Ooo nothing I desire
Compares with You

Verse 1

Some glad morning when this life is o’er
I’ll fly away
To a home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away

Chorus 1

I’ll fly away O glory I’ll fly away
When I die hallelujah by and by
I’ll fly away

When the shadows of this life have grown
I’ll fly away
Like a bird from prison bars has flown
I’ll fly away

Verse 3

Just a few more weary days and then
I’ll fly away
To a land where joys shall never end
I’ll fly away

He Leadeth Me O Blessed Thought

Verse 1

He leadeth me O blessed thought
O words with heavenly comfort fraught
Whate’er I do where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me

Chorus 1

He leadeth me He leadeth me
By His own hand He leadeth me
His faithful follower I would be
For by His hand He leadeth me

Verse 2

Sometimes ‘mid scenes of deepest gloom
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom
By water’s calm o’er troubled sea
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me

Verse 3

Lord I would clasp Thy hand in mine
Nor ever murmur nor repine
Content whatever lot I see
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me

Verse 4

And when my task on earth is done
When by Thy grace the victory’s won
E’en death’s cold waves I would not flee
Since Thou through Jordan leadeth me

11 AM Call to Worship

A Liturgy to Celebrate The Trinity
Moravian Book of Worship (1995) pp102-103

The Lord our God, the Lord is One.

Let us love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength.

We know God as Father, who seeks loving relationships with all whom God has Created.

Like a mother, God has nurtured us all our days and has been near in time of trouble.

Praise the Lord, and do not forget how kind God is:

Who forgives our sins and redeems us from the grave,

Who blesses us with steadfast love and tender mercy,

Who fills our lives with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

We know God as Jesus Christ, the Word, who became a human being and lived among us – full of grace and truth.

No one has ever seen God. The only Son, Who is one with God and is at the Father’s side, The Son has made God known.

God Created the whole universe through God and for God.  Christ existed before all things, and in union with God all things have their proper place.

Jesus was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death, even death on the cross.

For this reason God raised Christ to the highest place above, and gave Christ the name that is greater than any other name.

And so, in honor of the name of Jesus, all beings in Heaven, on Earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We know God as the Holy Spirit, Who reveals the truth about God.

The world cannot receive the Spirit because it cannot see or know God. But we know God, because the Spirit remains with us and is in us.

God’s Spirit joins with our spirits to declare that we are God’s children.

The Holy Spirit is the Helper who stays with us forever.

Because we are God’s children, God sent the Spirit of The Son into our hearts, the Spirit who cries out: “Father, my Father!”

Like a mighty wind, like a blazing fire, the Holy Spirit rests upon us and fills us with power, making us witnesses for Christ, to the neighborhood, to the nation, and to the ends of the Earth.

May you have power to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, and so be filled with all the fullness of God.

It is through Christ that all of us are able to be present in one Spirit into the presence of the Father. Amen.

11 Worship Lyrics

In Christ Alone

1In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This corner stone, this solid ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when striving cease!
My comforter my All in All-
here in the love of Christ I stand.

2In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
scorned by the ones He came to save.
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died,
the wrath of God was satisfied;
for every sin on Him was laid-
here in the death of Christ I live.

3There in the ground His body lay,
light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stand in victory,
sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
for I am His and He is mine-
bought with the precious blood of Christ.

4No guilt in life, no fear in death-
this is the pow’r of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of Hell, no scheme of man,
can never pluck me from His hand;
‘Til He returns or calls me home-
here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.

The Solid Rock TWC 517

1My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

(Chorus)

On Christ the solid Rock I stand;
all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.

2When darkness veils His lovely face,
I res on His unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale
my anchor hold within the veil.

3His oath, His covenant, His blood
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay.

4When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found,
dressed in His righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne.

I will Glory in the Cross GiTL p.123

1I boast not of works, nor tell of good deeds;
For naught have I done to merit His grace.
All glory and praise shall rest upon Him,
So willing to die in my place.

(Chorus)

I will glory in the cross, in the cross,
lest His suff’ring all be in vain.
I will weep no more for the cross that He bore;
I will glory in the cross.

2My trophies and crowns, my robe stained with sin,
‘twas all that I had to lay at His feet;
Unworthy to eat from the table of life

‘til love made provision for me.

11 AM Sermon Notes

Sermon Notes – Ecclesiastes 5-6

1. We must “S_____” our steps when we approach the house of God.

1 Corinthians teaches us that all Christians are a T_____ of the Holy Spirit!

We should be C_____ to utter a “vow” before the Lord.

REFLECT: Do you guard your steps and guard your tongue before the Lord?  What does that look like in practical every day life?

2. The kingdom of men is S_____ unjust.  It is unjust B_____ any hope on its O_____.

Only when justice is paired with the Good News of Jesus Christ is there any real hope for lasting justice.

REFLECT: What is your response to the injustice in this world?  How can you help move the lost and hurting from meaningless into eternal hope?

3. When we D_____ in the toil of the Lord, we are too P_____ with gladness of heart to know “hebel.”

However, if we keep God’s blessings for ourselves, it is “hebel.”

Instead, God blesses us I_____ O_____ to bless others!

REFLECT: Do you take joy in doing the Lord’s work?  Why or why not?  In what ways might God be calling you to do more to bless others?
